Christmas Work.

Thought I'd post the brief for my Christmas Research incase anyone's interested or can suggest anything for me to look at. So here it is, in all it's glory...

The University of Northampton - School of the Arts / BA(Hons) Illustration / Year One – Illustration Projects 1

Research for Mondays 2DD1007 Illustration Projects 1

Over Christmas you are required to carry out work on the current project as well as research in preparation for next term; good ground work is essential! Prepare yourself by going to the Library - look both at books and journals (Varoom, Eye, Graphik, and other art, design and craft journals)

1. Continue to develop your 3D paper project; you should make paper prototypes, experiment in photographing them prefereably with a digital camera, if not use your phone. Print out hard copies of the photos. Decide what form your final piece will be – poster/paper sample book/pack of postcards and plan the whole design ie where the title “The Excellence of Paper”, the Nobel prize winner’s name and 100 words of text will be placed on your design. If you have hard/software to do this do so on computer, if not use visualising /cut and paste and photocopying. An understandable full colour prototype of the final should be shown on the first Monday of next term, (11th Jan).

2. Research illustration, particularly in relation to ethical social cultural issues. Illustration you find within given research that could relate to these themes. Present 3 x A3 image based pages (or equivalent), these can be within a sketchbook.

Present 2 X A3 sheets (or equivalent within a sketchbook) of your text and some images about Fair Trade. Write a 100 word (approx) summary about Fair Trade to use in the project.

How delightful, as well as this, I also have to come up with an awesome design for my first etching plate, do 20 pages in my sketchbook for my Drawing lessons and carry on with two more projects given to me at the start of the term... *sigh* Lots to do. Still quite exciting stuff though =)

Oh, I'm also going to attempt to go for this illustration competition thing soon, the topic is 'Spring' so I'll make a start on that once I get christmas out of the way =)

If I don't post again before... Merry Christmas x
