1.) http://escapefromillustrationisland.com/
This website is absolutely incredible. It's produced by Thomas James and features thousands of resources for illustrators and anyone interested or connected to the illustration business. It includes podcasts, online resources, e-books, tutorials and loads of other great things. Definitely check it out.
2.) http://illustrationfriday.com/
This is a lovely website featuring a lively community who participate in completing an illustration per week (Every Friday) based on a random word on the website. This site is a great way to get feedback on your work and to see what other illustrators are doing.
3.) http://zero2illo.com/
Loads of tutorials, an e-book tool kit, industry articles, illustration competitions and the all important 12 week challenge, and new 4 week challenge. I really like this website, it also has a forum/clubhouse for artists/illustrators to compare their work and get feedback.
4.) http://www.theaoi.com/
The main association of illustrators in the UK. These guys deal with keeping our industry fair for the illustrator and protect our rights. They also put on events in London and feature artists portfolios.
5.) http://toolsartistsuse.com/
This is a great blog website interviewing artists, illustrators and graphic designers about the tools they use. I like this website because i'm always interested in what other people are using to create their artworks.
6.) http://on-my-desk.blogspot.com/
Another Blog site for me to be nosey and think about what I want my studio to look like when I get a little bigger. I always think it's really interesting to see the spaces where art works are created and it could provide inspiration for your own studio/work space.
7.) http://www.deviantart.com/
My all time favourite site and the one I probably spend the most time on. Artists can upload their work for free and can get loads of feedback. It's a really friendly community, and something great to get involved in. I spend hours browsing through other people's work and it's really inspiring.
8.) http://apeonthemoon.com/
A cool website featuring up and coming artists and illustrators with in depth interviews. All illustrations are categorised and easy to find. This is a great website for seeing artists processes and the finished articles.
9.) http://www.graphiccompetitions.com/illustration/
This page features all the illustration competitions around, I cannot vouch for the validity of all of them so be wary incase some of them seem more like spec work, but even if you don't participate, you could use it as a brief for a personal project to improve your portfolio and generally practice working in the industry.
10.) http://drawntoday.blogspot.com/
A really cool blog where artists come together and try to draw something every day, they are then posted and commented on by blog watchers and artists alike. Nice to look through.
I know of illustration friday and escape from illustration island both of which I find very useful. I'll have a look at the others.
